Mr. Ibebuike joined the practice in 2005 and has been involved in maritime, shipping, Oil and Gas, commercial and corporate practice of the firm – proffering legal advice to Clients and litigating issues relating to registration, charter & sale of vessels, arrest & release of vessels, general leases & mortgages and other shipping matters. He also advises Clients on joint ventures, exploration and production contracts, Oil and Gas technical service/management agreements, assets acquisitions and divestments, corporate takeovers, mergers and reconstructions.

Between January 2009 and July 2010 Donald undertook post graduate studies (LLM) in Oil & Gas Law at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom. Upon completion of his programme, he gained work experience at the Marine & International Trade Department of Clyde & Co. LLP in its London office in 2010.

Donald has participated in many local and international conferences and seminars in Oil and Gas including Deepwater Horizon, London and has undertaken several research work relating to Oil and Gas and Shipping in the following areas: Legal Framework for Investment in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry; Emission Trading Scheme and its Impact in the Upstream Industry; Dispute Resolution Procedures in the Oil and Gas Industry; Risk Allocation in Commercial Contracts and Upstream Projects; Investment Protection under the Energy Charter Treaty and Carriage of Containerised Cargo by Sea.

He is a member of the Committees on Maritime Law and Natural Resources Law of the Section on Business Law, Nigerian Bar Association; Energy Institute, London and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), Houston, USA.
